For the Tamil Thalaivas, a thrilling Southern Derby against the Bengaluru Bulls ended in a 35-29 victory at the SMS Indoor Stadium in Jaipur on Tuesday, ending the Bulls’ winning streak. Raid Machine Arjun Deshwal was the star of the night, completing a Super 10 and spearheading the Thalaivas’ comeback, while Narender Kandola contributed five crucial points in defence. On the opposing side, Alireza Mirzaian also achieved a Super 10, keeping the match intensely competitive.

The first half saw both teams exchanging points with high intensity. The Thalaivas led 9-7 early, thanks to Arjun’s quick raids and Ronak’s solid defence. However, the Bulls responded strongly with Alireza’s sharp raids and a game-changing ALL OUT, supported by Ahmad Reza Asgari and Ganesha Hanamantagol, establishing a 20-14 lead at halftime. The second half witnessed a remarkable turnaround.

Arjun’s aggressive raids and a well-timed ALL OUT, executed after Nitesh Kumar trapped Alireza, swung momentum back to the Thalaivas. In the final quarter, both defences shone, but decisive moments from Narender Kandola, including a tackle on Ganesha, ensured the Thalaivas maintained their lead. Despite Alireza and Ahmad Reza’s efforts to close the gap, the Thalaivas held firm to secure a six-point win in this high-stakes clash of Southern Titans.
