U Mumba have made a strong start in PKL Season 12, with captain Sunil Kumar emphasizing the team’s balance between raiding and defense. In their 48-28 win over Bengaluru Bulls, raider Ajit Chouhan scored 13 points before leaving with an injury. Defenders Lokesh, Parvesh, Rinku, and Ravi Bhati contributed significantly, showcasing a complete team effort.

When the Pro Kabaddi League 2025 reached its early stages, U Mumba emerged as one of the most balanced teams in the competition. Under the leadership of captain Sunil Kumar, the team has shown strength both in defense and raiding, making them a serious contender for the top spot. Sunil emphasized that while defense forms the backbone of any successful side, U Mumba’s raiders have consistently delivered, scoring in every match so far.

The team has addressed earlier defensive lapses, with the backline improving significantly in recent games. A prime example of their dual strength was on September 5, when U Mumba defeated Bengaluru Bulls 48-28 in Vizag. Raiders, led by Ajit Chouhan, scored 13 points, including 12 touch points and one bonus, before being forced off due to injury in the 27th minute. Despite his early exit, U Mumba maintained control and secured a convincing win.

This victory lifted them to second place on the points table with three wins from four games and a score difference of +23, just behind Dabang Delhi, who have eight points but a slightly lower difference of +19, early in the campaign. Sunil credited his teammates for a collective effort, highlighting defenders Lokesh, Parvesh, Rinku, and Ravi Bhati for their solid contributions. With both raiding and defense clicking, U Mumba appear well-positioned for a strong PKL 12 campaign.
