For the Pro Kabaddi League, August 30, 2025, was a day dedicated to honouring one of its greatest icons, Pardeep Narwal, fondly called the Dubki King. Over the past decade, Pardeep transformed the sport with his trademark move, the dubki, and built a remarkable legacy with more than 1,800 raid points and three PKL titles. At his felicitation, the league celebrated not just his records but the impact he had on kabaddi’s popularity and growth.

Speaking emotionally at the event, Pardeep credited the sport and PKL for giving him fame,

friendships, and the love of countless fans. He mentioned fellow star Maninder Singh and recalled both the highs of victories and the pain of narrow defeats. As he moves forward, Pardeep has chosen to give back by opening the Pardeep Narwal Kabaddi Academy on September 1, which will nurture 65 aspiring youngsters.

He expressed his dream of grooming the next generation, just as his coach once guided him. The occasion was marked by tributes from Indian sporting legends like Dhanraj Pillai and Pullela Gopichand, along with present-day athletes including Jyothi Yarraji and Yogesh Kathuniya. While Pardeep may step away from active play, his influence and spirit will continue to inspire kabaddi’s future.
