PKL 2019 | Abozar Mohajer Mighani to hold ropes for Telugu Titans in new season

After a not so pleasant last season, the Andhra-based franchise announced on Thursday that Iranian defender Abozar Mighani would be their new captain in the coming season. With a total of 56 points last season, Abozar is in pristine form and would take over the reins from Vishal Bharadwaj.

Telugu Titans finished fifth in Zone B last year and would be looking forward to getting back to winning ways this season. They have heavily invested in revamping their raiding department from last season by letting go of star raider Rahul Chaudhari.

Splurging a hefty Rs 1.45 crores for last year’s start debutant Siddharth Desai, who tallied a whopping 221 points in 21 matches for U Mumba, the Titans have already shown a signal of intent. The 2018 Asain Games Gold Medalist Abozar was the most successful defender for Gujarat Fortunegiants in season 5 with a total of 66 points from 24 matches.

This would be Mighani’s second season with the Titans and the Iranian enforcer knows the ins and outs of the team very well with compatriot Farhad Milaghardan backing him perfectly.

With their head coach now Gholamreza Mazandarani, who is also an Iranian and has previously coached the Iranian national team, communication wouldn’t be a problem as well.

Telugu Titans Squad:

Armaan, Farhad Rahimi Milaghardan, Krushna Madane, Manish, Akash Choudhary, Siddharth Desai, Abozar Mighani, Vishal Bhardwaj, Duet Jennings, Amit Kumar, C Arun, Suraj Desai, Suraj Kumar, Sombir, Mula Siva Ganesh Reddy, Rakesh Gowda
