In the heart of Kansas City, over 9,000 soccer fans gathered at Power & Light last weekend for the 11th edition of Premier League Mornings Live, marking the event’s first appearance in the city. Held on September 20 and 21 at KC Live! by NBC Sports, the fan festival offered a College Gameday-style celebration of English Premier League soccer for U.S. audiences. Former England striker Jermain Defoe praised the city’s enthusiastic fans, saying the atmosphere, complete with chanting, team shirts, and high energy, felt just like a matchday in England.
Kansas City’s strong soccer culture, which helped it secure a spot as a FIFA World Cup 2026 host city, was on full display during the event. Attendees had the opportunity to watch live games from across the Premier League, including a 1-1 draw between Arsenal and Manchester City.
