In the Indian Women’s League (IWL) 2024-25, East Bengal FC continued their dominance with a commanding 3-1 victory over Odisha FC at Kalinga Stadium on March 9, 2025. Ghanaian striker Elshaddai Acheampong stole the show with a remarkable 38-minute hat-trick, taking her tally to six goals in the tournament. With this win, East Bengal remains at the top of the table with 18 points from seven matches, while Odisha FC sits third with 11 points.

Elshaddai’s first goal came in the 7th minute, assisted by Sulanjana Raul and Soumya Guguloth. She doubled the lead in the 31st minute after a swift counterattack, finishing past goalkeeper Shreya Hooda. In the 38th minute, Odisha’s Maryam Juke Ibrahim fouled Elshaddai inside the box, resulting in a penalty, which she confidently converted.

Despite a late fightback, Odisha managed only one goal through Jennifer Kankam Yeboah in the 74th minute. East Bengal could have widened the gap further, but Sulanjana missed two opportunities, while Resty Nanziri’s shot hit the post.
