Szczesny, who left last summer, supports the club long-term vision despite short-term setbacks.

In the wake of Juventus’ transition under Thiago Motta, former goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny remains optimistic about the club’s future despite recent struggles. Szczesny, who left Juventus last summer after his contract was terminated, made a surprising return to football with Barcelona as an emergency replacement for the injured Marc-André ter Stegen.

Reflecting on his comeback, Szczesny admitted that his brief retirement allowed him to mentally reset, and he was grateful for the chance to play again. The Polish goalkeeper starred in Barcelona’s 1-0 win over Benfica in the Champions League Round of 16 first leg, proving his continued quality.

Juventus, meanwhile, has faced setbacks this season, including eliminations from the Champions League and Coppa Italia. Despite these challenges, Szczesny believes in Motta’s long-term vision. He acknowledged that major squad changes, including the departures of key players like Federico Chiesa, have affected the team’s performance. However, he remains confident that Juventus’ new approach—focusing on younger talents and financial stability—will yield positive results.

Currently, Juventus sits fourth in Serie A, six points behind leaders Inter Milan. Their next challenge is a crucial home match against Atalanta, where they aim to strengthen their position in the race for a top-four finish.
