Luis Diaz, set to join Bayern Munich in a €75 million deal from Liverpool, will be required to follow the club’s car rule due to their Audi partnership. Players must drive an Audi or Volkswagen group car for training and matches. Diaz, who currently drives a Porsche Cayenne, will comply with the policy.

Coming to the latest development in the football transfer market, Luis Diaz is set to join Bayern Munich from Liverpool in a deal worth €75 million (£65.6 million). The Colombian winger, who joined Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 for £37.5 million, has made 148 appearances for the Reds, scoring 41 goals and providing 23 assists. As part of Bayern Munich’s unique regulations, Diaz will now have to follow a strict rule regarding vehicles, similar to what Harry Kane and other players observe at the club.

Bayern Munich, partly owned by Audi (8.33 percent), requires all players and staff to use Audi cars when commuting to training at Sabener Strasse, for home games, and other club-related duties. Though players may drive personal vehicles in their leisure time, only Audi, or other Volkswagen group cars like Bentley, Bugatti, and Porsche, are allowed for official club use.

Notably, Diaz owns a Porsche Cayenne S, which is acceptable under these rules. In the past, Bayern winger Kingsley Coman was denied entry to training for arriving in a Mercedes, and once had to apologise for using a McLaren. Diaz’s adherence to this policy will be expected from the start of his stint in Munich.
