Juventus are considering VfB Stuttgart’s Jeff Chabot as a defensive reinforcement after Lloyd Kelly’s underwhelming stint. Signed for €17.2 million, Kelly is now up for sale with no takers. Chabot, who starred against Juventus in last year’s Champions League and is valued at €9 million, previously impressed in Serie A with Sampdoria and Spezia.

For the Juventus defence, major changes are underway as new head coach Igor Tudor aims to revamp the backline. Following criticism of Lloyd Kelly’s underwhelming performances, the Bianconeri are now targeting Stuttgart’s Jeff Chabot, a player they had previously overlooked in January. Chabot was notably impressed by man-marking Dusan Vlahovic out of a Champions League clash in Turin last October. Kelly’s €17.2 million transfer from Newcastle activated on July 1, but the club has yet to find any suitors willing to match that figure.

Juventus fans widely consider him one of the worst signings in club history. With several defenders including Tiago Djalo and Filip Kostic also set to leave, Chabot is seen as a cost-effective and experienced Serie A option, having previously played for Sampdoria and Spezia. Currently valued at €9 million, Chabot is also attracting interest from Saudi Pro League club NEOM SC.

Juventus are also eyeing his Stuttgart teammate, Ermedin Demirovic, who scored 15 Bundesliga goals and two Champions League goals last season. With a price tag of €22 million, Demirovic could boost their attack if funds are freed up through outgoing transfers. Both players are seen as key to strengthening Tudor’s squad.
