Chelsea are reportedly targeting Barcelona’s 21-year-old Marc Casadó, who has a €100m release clause but could be available for €30m. Despite featuring in 23 La Liga games and impressing under Hansi Flick, the Spaniard may not be a regular starter next season, opening the door for a potential Premier League move.

For the team at Chelsea, the summer transfer window could see a key addition in Barcelona midfielder Marc Casadó. The 21-year-old Spanish international impressed under Hansi Flick last season, making 23 La Liga appearances, scoring once and assisting three times before a ligament injury in March disrupted his progress. Casadó also played eight matches in the Champions League’s league phase, helping Barcelona reach the knockout stages.

Despite being a favourite of Flick, the competition with Frenkie de Jong for midfield starts has limited Casadó's guaranteed spot, leading to transfer speculation. With a release clause of €100 million (£86 million), reports suggest Barcelona might consider offers starting at €30 million (£26 million), as they see Casadó’s chances of starting regularly next season as uncertain.

Chelsea, among several Premier League clubs showing interest, could make a move as Enzo Maresca looks to strengthen his squad. Casadó himself praised Flick earlier, saying the coach gave him confidence and guidance to perform at his best. If Chelsea proceeds, this could be a strategic addition to reinforce their midfield depth and build for the long term as the club reshapes its roster under new leadership ahead of the 2025-26 season.
