Harry Kane, who left Spurs in 2023 for Bayern Munich in a £104m deal, has scored 86 goals and won two trophies in Germany. With Alexander Isak seeking a Newcastle exit, speculation has grown about Kane’s return to the Premier League. However, Spurs hold first-refusal rights, making any St James’ Park move complicated despite Kane’s admiration for the club.

After the emergence of fresh speculation linking Harry Kane with a move to Newcastle United, the Bayern Munich striker’s past comments about St James’ Park have resurfaced. Kane, who left Tottenham Hotspur in 2023 in a deal worth up to £104 million, has since thrived in Germany, scoring 86 goals across competitions and winning two trophies, including the Bundesliga last season.

Despite his success abroad, many still expect the 32-year-old to return to the Premier League before retirement, particularly with Alan Shearer’s all-time record of 260 goals still within his reach. Kane is currently 47 goals behind that milestone. Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy previously confirmed a clause in the striker’s contract that grants Spurs first refusal if Kane decides to come back to England, making any Premier League return outside the North London complex.

Nevertheless, Newcastle’s striker situation has stirred rumours, with Alexander Isak publicly expressing his desire to leave the club despite being contracted until 2028. While a transfer remains difficult, his uncertain future has left the Magpies exploring alternatives, and Kane’s name has been raised. Back in 2021, Kane praised Newcastle’s atmosphere, calling St James’ Park “an incredible stadium” and highlighting the passion of its fans, adding fuel to the current debate.
