Liverpool on Verge of Historic 20th League Title This Weekend

Liverpool could clinch their 20th English league title on Sunday if they defeat Leicester and Arsenal lose to Ipswich. With 13 points clear and six games remaining, the Reds are close to glory. Leicester and Ipswich risk relegation, while the Champions League race intensifies with just five points separating third to seventh place.

With the Premier League season nearing its end, Liverpool are on the verge of clinching a record-equalling 20th English top-flight title. The Reds, currently 13 points clear with six matches remaining, can be crowned champions this Sunday if they beat Leicester City and Arsenal lose to Ipswich Town.

Arsenal, coming off a dominant 5-1 aggregate win over Real Madrid in the Champions League, could also relegate Ipswich if West Ham and Wolves win their matches. Leicester, sitting 19th, are in danger of relegation themselves, having earned just four points in their last 17 matches under manager Ruud van Nistelrooy. Their opponents, Liverpool, have favourable fixtures ahead, with Tottenham next after Leicester.

At the other end of the table, Southampton have already been relegated with a record-low 10 points. Ipswich and Leicester could join them, making it the second straight season all three promoted clubs are relegated. The race for Champions League spots remains tight, with just five points separating third-placed Newcastle from seventh-placed Aston Villa.

Newcastle are on a five-game winning streak and recently lifted the Carabao Cup. Aston Villa, knocked out of the Champions League by PSG, face a tough run-in but remain in the hunt. Meanwhile, 14th-placed Manchester United will aim to improve their league standing against Wolves at Old Trafford.
