The BCCI has filed an official complaint to the ICC against Pakistani players Sahibzada Farhan and Haris Rauf for their questionable on-field gestures in the Asia Cup Super Four match against India in the Asia Cup 2025. An ICC hearing might be held if both cricketers deny the allegations.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)  lodged a complaint with the ICC regarding the on-field behaviour of Pakistani players, Sahibzada Farhan and Haris Rauf, during the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four match against arch-rivals India in Dubai.

The actions in question were Farhan's gun celebration after completing a half-century during the game and Rauf's signals towards a section of fans while fielding at the boundary line. In case the two players deny the allegations by the Indian board, an ICC hearing may take place, and they might have to appear before match referees Richie Richardson and Andy Pycroft. Apart from the BCCI, the Indian team’s Assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate also shared his views on the on-field behavior of the two cricketers.

“Let me first say, the amount of pressure that's been heaped on the players because of the situation, it's very difficult to control your behaviour,” Doeschate said as quoted by ESPNCricinfo.

“I did see some of the things Haris did, and that's not our concern. Like I said earlier, we're really proud of how the guys carried themselves. They fought fire with their bats on the field. Other teams may have had issues with some of the things we've done. But from our side, we're proud of how the guys have carried themselves,” he concluded.

Speaking of the two teams' ongoing campaign in the tournament, The Men in Blue have qualified for the finals, which will be played on September 28. On the other hand, Pakistan will be playing a do-or-die game against Bangladesh on Thursday.
