Bowlers often come up with their own trademark celebration after getting a wicket, but Abrar Ahmed went a step ahead during Pakistan’s Asia Cup T20 2025 game against Sri Lanka. The leg-spinner castled Wanindu Hasaranga in Abu Dhabi before pulling off the latter’s famous celebration.

‌Pakistan had Sri Lanka under the mat during their crucial Asia Cup T20 2025 ties against Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. After opting to bowl at the Zayed Cricket Stadium, the Men in Green reduced the Lankans to 58/5 inside eight overs.

Left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi struck early with two wickets with the new ball in his first two overs. Medium pacer Hussain Talat, then, dismissed captain Charith Asalanka and Dasun Shanaka in the same over to have the island nation in all sorts of trouble.

Kamindu Mendis and Wanindu Hasaranga tried to rebuild the innings with a 22-run partnership, but leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed broke the association with a well-deceived googly. He bowled a flighted delivery outside off-stump, which went through Hasaranga’s defence to break the timber.

But what caught the viewers in splits was Abrar’s comical celebration as he tried to give Hasaranga a taste of his own medicine. Though he could not pull it off convincingly, he was able to bring on a lighter moment in a toughly contested game. Twitter was rolling on the floor laughing after watching Abrar’s antics after getting the dismissal.
