Asia Cup 2025 | Twitter trolls Thushara as he misses out on a crucial wicket due to overstepping no ball

Taking a wicket of a no-ball is one of the most unfortunate moments for a bowler in the game of cricket. Nuwan Thusara made the list of one of these unfortunate players, as he missed out on the crucial wicket of Nizakat Khan, as the third umpire caught his front foot crossing the bowling crease.

‌Sri Lanka won the toss and put Hong Kong into bat in the eighth game of the Asia Cup T20 2025. Though Hong Kong struggled a bit in the initial phase of the game, a partnership between Anshuman Rath and Nizakat Khan got them back in the game with a 61-run stand for the third wicket. Though there were barely any great or iconic moments for the Sri Lankan bowlers, the player who had one of the unluckiest games with the ball was Nuwan Thusara, who struggled to take a wicket in the game and finished with slightly expensive figures of 0/36 in his four overs. Though there were a lot of unlucky moments in the game for the right-arm pacer, one of his most embarrassing moments came in his final over, which also cost him a wicket.

Thusara came back into the attack in the 17th and started his over well by only giving a couple of runs in the first four balls of the over. However, it was the following delivery where all the action took place, as Nizakat Khan had edged the ball and Kusal Perera took a sharp catch at short third man. Unfortunately, as soon as Thushara started to celebrate the wicket, the sound of the siren spoiled all the fun as the third umpire Masudur Rahman saw his front foot cross the popping crease, and Nizakat lived to survive another day.

The third umpire added salt to the wounds of the Lankan seamer.
