Celebrations by players in sport are very common but Smriti Mandhana caught eyeballs with her unique celebration during the final of the ODI Tri-Series 2025. The left-handed opener, who reached her fifty with a sweep against Sri Lanka, celebrated by imitating the same shot to the dressing room.

‌India were looking to avenge their earlier defeat to Sri Lanka in the group game of the ODI Tri-Series 2025 and opted to bat in the final at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday. The openers Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal got off to a cautious start on a slow wicket to be placed at 14/0 after five overs.
However, Mandhana, who was on five off 14 balls at that moment got a move on with a six and four in the next two overs. The opener was lucky to get a reprieve on 21 when Piumi Wathsala missed a straightforward chance at mid-off. The left-handed batter made full use of that chance to reach her half-century off 55 balls in the 20th over of the game.
Starting the over on 46, Mandhana swept Sri Lanka skipper Chamari Athapaththu for a four off the first ball to bring up her 32nd fifty in ODIs. And then in a funny gesture the batter imitated the same shot in the direction of the dressing room to show them that she can sweep convincingly.
The Twitter folks were in splits even as the dressing room acknowledged her actions.
