IPL | Twitter stunned as furious Shubman Gill rages at umpire while bestie Abhishek Sharma plays peacemaker

As a team captain, maintaining composure is crucial, but Shubman Gill clearly struggled with that during the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The home side’s skipper lost his cool over an LBW decision, which was ruled as "umpire’s call," and was seen arguing with the umpire in frustration.

‌In reply to Gujarat Titans’ imposing total of 224, Sunrisers Hyderabad openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head came out aggressively, racing to 45/0 in the first four overs. However, Prasidh Krishna struck in the fifth over, dismissing the Aussie opener. Abhishek Sharma, though, remained steady and continued his innings, pairing with Ishan Kishan to take the score to 80/1 in nine overs. After Ishan's departure, Heinrich Klaasen joined Sharma, setting the stage for some drama.

On the fourth delivery of the 14th over, Prasidh Krishna bowled a yorker aimed at the leg stump. Abhishek missed the shot and was struck on the pads. Krishna appealed for an LBW, but the umpire turned it down. He then threw the ball at the bowler’s end but missed as the batters switched ends. Shubman Gill immediately called for the review. The delivery was deemed fair, and while the ball struck Abhishek on the full, the impact was ruled as "umpire's call," favoring Sharma. Upset, Gill engaged in a heated discussion with the umpires. Meanwhile, Sharma seemed to have injured his right toe, prompting the SRH physio to attend to him. A lengthy conversation followed between umpire Kannur Swaroopanand and Gill, with Abhishek stepping in to talk to the Gujarat captain. Sharma removed his shoe and sock as the physio applied the magic spray. The Twitterverse quickly reacted to Gill’s frustration, with fans taking to social media to comment on the incident.
