Texas Super Kings beat Los Angeles Knight Riders by 52 runs in an MLC 2025 match at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Wednesday. Shubham Ranjane top-scored in the game with a 45-ball 70 while Donovan Ferreira’s all-round performance saw TSK move to second in the points table.

‌Texas Super Kings reversed their two-match losing streak in the Major League Cricket 2025 campaign with a 52-run win over Los Angeles Knight Riders at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Wednesday. All-rounder Shubham Ranjane starred with the bat scoring a 45-ball 70 to power TSK to 196/8 in 20 overs before an all-round bowling effort led by spinners Akeal Hosein and Noor Ahmad saw them restrict LAKR to 144/7 in the chase.

After being into bat first, TSK was in a spot of bother at 33/3 in four overs when Ranjane walked to the crease. He added 64 runs with opener Smit Patel, who made a useful contribution of 38 from 33, for the fourth wicket to repair the initial damage. The USA all-rounder, then, joined hands with Donovan Ferreira to drive the momentum in TSK’s favour. Ranjane smashed four sixes and six fours in his innings while Ferreira’s cameo of 43 from 21 balls included four fours and three sixes. At one point, TSK looked set to go past the 200-run mark but the dismissal of the duo in the space of three balls saw them slide from 179/4 to 196/8.

Chasing 197, LAKR had a dismal start with left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein scalping Alex Hales and Nitish Kumar off consecutive deliveries in his first over to reduce them to 10/2. Though opener Unmukt Chand (30 off 30 balls) and Saif Badar tried to bring the chase back on track with a 45-run stand, LAKR again lost wickets in clusters during the middle phase. With the side tottering at 106/7 and the side needing an improbable 91 from 20 balls, captain Jason Holder’s cameo ensured that LAKR’s damage with respect to the net run rate was reduced to an extent. LAKR slid to their fourth loss in five matches and remained second from last while TSK’s fourth win lifted them to second place in the MLC 2025 points table.
