ENG vs IND | Twitter in splits as Gill and Siraj take jibe at Bazball as runs dry up at Lord’s

Cricket is a game that is very much played in the mind as it is on the field and the Indian team exactly did that against England in the third Test at Lord’s. Skipper Shubman Gill and pacer Mohammed Siraj were at their chirpy best as they tried to take the batters out of their comfort zone.

‌India did well to dismiss openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley after England opted to bowl in the third Test at Lord’s in London. With the series locked at 1-1 and Jasprit Bumrah returning to the side in place of Prasidh Krishna, the Indian team had a spring in their step as they tried to crank things up on the field.

Resuming at 83/2 after lunch, Joe Root and Ollie Pope were cautious as they tried to steady the England ship. The pace duo of Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj bowled four maidens in five overs as England managed just six runs coming in the first six overs of the session.

Just as Bumrah completed one of those maidens, captain Shubman Gill walked up to Pope and said “ No more entertaining cricket guys, welcome to boring Test cricket stuff guys” in a jibe aimed at England’s famed Bazball approach. Mohammed Siraj joined the party in the very next over as he decided to take on the experienced Root.

With Root edging a short of the length delivery, the pacer walked straight up to him and queried “Where is Bazball?”. Root and Pope, however, did not resort to ego cricket as they tried to safely navigate the mind games being thrown at them.

Twitter was in splits as the Indian team went the distance to disrupt the home team after getting a slight advantage on a hot afternoon.
