‌AUS vs ENG | Twitter reacts to Archer winces in pain after baiting Head caught and bowled

Being asked to bat first under humid Lahore conditions, England aggregated 351 runs in 50 overs on the back of Ben Duckett’s monstrous 165 coupled with Joe Root’s 68. Eyeing for a historic chase in the Champions Trophy, the Aussies faltered early with Travis Head losing his wicket, courtesy of Archer holding onto a catch despite agonizing in pain.

The Barbados-bred pacer bowled a fuller one outside the stumps on the first ball of the fourth over that Head smashed down the line back to the bowler. Archer managed to get his palm to shield the ricocheting ball’s trajectory and grasped it firmly before wincing in pain. The pacer gazed at his fingers and shook them as the ball came to him like a tracer bullet, sparking Twitterverse frenzy.
