Batters losing their wicket while attempting to play their favourite shot is one of the unusual sights on the field of cricket. However, star Pakistan batter Mohammad Rizwan has been a prime example of this, and a similar kind of incident happened with him in the Caribbean Premier League 2025.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots took on the Barbados Royals in the eighth game of the ongoing CPL 2025. The Royals won the toss and asked STKNP to bat first. The Patriots faced two early blows, losing Evin Lewis and Rilee Rossouw with the team score just 32 after 4.1 overs. But the worst was yet to come, as a moment in the fifth over left their marquee overseas pick Mohammad Rizwan falling prey to an embarrassing dismissal.

It happened on the fourth ball of the over when Rizwan was beaten all ends up, courtesy of a brilliantly flighted length delivery bowled by Jomel Warrican. Rizwan went down on one knee to play his favourite slog sweep but committed to the shot too early and had swung his bat even before the ball was pitched. Eventually, the Kookaburra went straight into the stumps, ending Rizwan’s time early after scoring just three runs off six balls. Consequently, the Barbados Royals were quick to take to their official X handle (formerly Twitter) to mock him hilariously. The Royals shared the video of Rizwan’s dismissal, alongside an old Bollywood song in the background.

Speaking of the action of the match between STKNP and the Royals, the Patriots posted 174/8 in the allotted 20 overs courtesy of the brilliant batting efforts of Kyle Mayers (12) and skipper Jason Holder (38). Their knocks were followed by Abbas Afridi’s 16 (10) and Naseem Shah’s 19 (11). While chasing the target, the Royals were bundled out at the score of 162 runs in 18.2 overs, losing the game by 12 runs.
