The first game of the double header on Wednesday of the Hundred Men’s will be taking place between Southern Brave and Northern Superchargers at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Southampton. The Braves will be eyeing the top spot and ending their losing streak against the Superchargers.

The second double-header in The Hundred is upon us, with the first game to take place between inaugural champions Southern Brave and the underdogs Northern Superchargers. The two teams have been in contrasting positions across the last four seasons, with the Braves making it to the playoffs three times, and the Superchargers still looking for their first top-three finish in the tournament. Though the Southern franchise might be one of the successful teams in the tournament, they have struggled against the Boys in Purple, who have beaten them in the last three games in the tournament while losing to the James Vince-led side only once in 2021. Looking at the current season, the Brave have been dominant so far, while the Chargers are placed in the mid-section of the table.

Southern Brave started the tournament with a thrilling one-wicket victory against the Manchester Originals, with Tymal Mills and Craig Overton rescuing their team from a tough position. However, the nerves soon gave way to a dominant nine-wicket win in their last game against Birmingham Phoenix. With two wins in a row to start their campaign, they will not only be looking to end their losing streak against the Northeners but will also be eyeing the top spot on the points table.

Northern Superchargers, meanwhile, started their season with an incredible eight-wicket win against Welsh Fire, with top performances from their key batters in Zak Crawley, Dawid Malan, and skipper Harry Brook, but failed to replicate the same performance against Trent Rockets. They are currently standing at number four on the points table with a positive net run rate of +0.256.

Form Guide

Both teams' recent form in the tournament is very similar, with three wins, one loss, and one no result game in their last five encounters.

Southern Brave vs Northern Superchargers Head-to-Head in The Hundred

Northern Superchargers might be among the underperforming teams in the Hundred, but they have a great record against the 2021 Champions, winning three out of four games against the Brave.

Southern Brave 1 - 3 Northern Superchargers

Pitch and Weather

The surface at the Rose Bowl Stadium assists the pacers significantly, who tend to get extra bounce and seam movement off the wicket. The last five games of The Hundred at this venue have seen the chasing team dominate, given the conditions have gotten easier for batting as the game goes on.

The weather at Southampton is expected to be cloudy with a slight breeze at 23 degrees Celsius. Despite the cloud cover, there should be no interruption due to rain.

Team News

Southern Brave are not expected to make any changes to their lineup in the upcoming game.

Northern Superchargers might bring in James Fuller in place of Tom Lawes to bring more depth and experience in their playing eleven.

Southern Brave Probable XI: Leus du Plooy, James Vince (c), Jason Roy, James Coles, Laurie Evans (wk), Hilton Cartwright, Michael Bracewell, Chris Jordan, Craig Overton, Tymal Mills, Jofra Archer.

Northern Superchargers Probable XI: Zak Crawley, Dawid Malan, Michael-Kyle Pepper (wk), Harry Brook (c), Dan Lawrence, Graham Clark, Imad Wasim, James Fuller, Matthew Potts, Adil Rashid, Mohammad Amir.
