Watch, PSL 2025 | Ramiz Raja switches leagues mid-sentence and fans can’t stop laughing

The IPL's global appeal is undeniable; even our neighbours occasionally feel its pull. A recent example came during a post-match presentation when Pakistani legend Ramiz Raja accidentally referred to the IPL instead of the PSL in the game between Multan and Lahore, sparking light-hearted confusion.

‌Multan Sultans had a great time with the bat and rode on the back of Yasir Khan’s 87 off 44. Towards the end of the innings, Iftikhar Ahmed’s 40 off 18 took the Multan Sultans to 228/5. In response, Lahore Qalandars’ batting faltered with no substantial partnership and Sikandar Raza’s 50 wasn't enough for them to win. The standout bowler for Multan was Ubaid Shah, who picked a three-fer and dented Lahore’s batting. After the match, a light-hearted moment stole the spotlight during the post-match presentation featuring Ramiz Raja.

As usual, Raja was hosting the ceremony, and when Ireland’s Josh Little was being honoured for his stunning catch to dismiss Fakhar Zaman, an amusing slip occurred. Raja mistakenly referred to the Pakistan Super League as the “HBL IPL,” instead of “HBL PSL” blending the branding of two rival leagues.

The slip of tongue didn’t go unnoticed as fans quickly latched onto the moment, and clips of the slip-up went viral across social media. Memes and reactions flooded timelines, turning the mix-up into a comic highlight amid a high-stakes season.

What have you done, Ramiz? laughing
