No matter how fit a player is, hot weather can lead to dehydration and sickness. Such was the case with Gujarat Titans pacer Ishant Sharma during the match against Delhi Capitals, where he felt unwell and had to leave the field due to dehydration caused by the intense Ahmedabad heat.

‌Gujarat captain Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to bowl first. The Gujarat side made a strong start with Arshad Khan removing Abishek Porel in the second over. However, Karun Nair and KL Rahul steadied the innings, taking the score to 52/1 after four overs. Just as Rahul seemed to be in control, Prasidh Krishna dismissed him in the fifth over. The trouble continued as Krishna struck again, sending the in-form Karun Nair back in the ninth over. With Tristan Stubbs and Axar Patel at the crease, Delhi reached 105/3 at the halfway point.

As Delhi's innings progressed, an issue arose with Ishant Sharma. The Indian veteran bowled two overs, conceding 14 runs, and looked sharp. However, during his spell, he appeared unwell and visibly dehydrated, needing assistance. After completing his two overs, he was seen leaving the field. The Gujarat physio and his team used towels as makeshift fans as Ishant sat near the boundary line. Later, he seemed fit enough to return and walked back onto the field. Twitter users quickly noticed his condition and took to social media to discuss Ishant’s situation.
