Sad to see players suffering due to Pakistan's domestic restructure, laments Mohammad Hafeez

Pakistan's domestic cricket has undergone a huge change, with the domestic tournament now consisting of only six teams, ending the involvement of departmental teams. This means that now only 192 players can play domestic cricket and second XI events. This has to lead to unemployment of many domestic players and management staff as they now have no team to play for.

One of the videos in which affected cricketer Fazal Subhan is seen narrating his story went viral on Twitter and reacting to his painful story, Mohammad Hafeez took to Twitter and said, "So sad really, like him and many others are suffering, new system will look after 200 players but 1000 of cricketers and management staff are unemployed because of this new model. I don’t know who will take the responsibility of this unemployment of cricket fraternity, for all the victims.”

While launching the domestic format, PCB mentioned that it will help them in narrowing down the pool of players and concentrate on monitoring and improving the skills of many young players and will be able to get rid of the old players. But due to the fact that the number of teams have been reduced, there are now growing concerns on the number of talented players who unfortunately might never get their chance to impress at the domestic level.
