Twitter reacts to Wriddhiman Saha’s stunning two-finger catch with a full-bodied dive

Virat Kohli might have underestimated his team’s calibre when it comes to fielding as India have been better than their challenge right from the start. After Rohit Sharma’s one-handed stunner at the slip, it was Wriddhiman Saha taking it up a notch with executing a magical two-finger grab.

It might be a good day or not for India’s mainstays but when it comes to Wriddhiman Saha with his keeping gloves on, it’s more or less a wave of goodbye to bad luck. That’s the magic the Bengal boy weaves with his keeping fingers. Literally, his fingers. And the stretch of the magic is so long that it takes him just two fingers, as opposed to an average man’s five, produce the best of his shows.

Saha specials are aplenty at the subcontinent, where wicketkeeping is considered a significant challenge. One such miracle was produced by the keeper, at his home ground, on a historic day for Indian cricket. As Mahmudullah poked one outside off, his destiny was already sealed in the mind of the brilliant Saha. The ball was again directed towards the first slip, where Kohli was fielding, once again but as opposed to Mominul Haque’s thick edge, the nick off the bat was rather thin this time around. As Saha spotted the edge dying, he knew it was his catch to take and not Kohli’s.

Channelling the inner mastermind to his gifted hands, Saha made a completely full-stretch dive and emerged with the ball stuck right in the webbing between his thumb and forefinger. Two fingers, that’s all it takes. Kohli was indeed right when he designated Saha as the “the best wicketkeeper in the world”.

What a catch by Saha! :O

That's definitely Superman!

Another milestone for Saha!

Brilliant is an understatement!

Where are you at haters!?

Out of this world!

This is how all of us saw it! :P

Wriddhiman Saha and taking flying catches is a match made in heaven!

Now we can finally put the debate to an end!

Right under the nose!

Genuine question!

When it comes to fielding, India stand tall as one of the best sides in the business. But in contrast to the common proverb “too many cooks spoil the broth”, it was the sharper cook among the two of India’s stalwarts - Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma - who produced the best serving on the table.
