Hopeful of India playing a pink Test in every series, says Sourav Ganguly

Sourav Ganguly wants the Indian team under Virat Kohli to play at least one pink-ball Test match in every series from here on. Under his initiative, India made their debut in day-night Test cricket against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens, beating their neighbours by an innings and 46 runs.
After being reluctant to take the plunge into day-night Tests for years, Kohli & Co. finally agreed to embrace the format. Though the last major cricket nation to play in a pink Test, the sellout crowd that showed up at Kolkata last month is enough validation for board chief Ganguly to push for more such matches.
"I am pretty upbeat about it. I feel this is the way forward. Not every Test, but at least one Test in a series," Ganguly told 'The Week' magazine.
"I will share my experiences with the board and we will try and implement it in other places. After this, everyone is ready. Nobody wants to play Test cricket in front of 5,000 people," Ganguly added.
It will be interesting to see how the discussions between the president and the skipper go, as Kohli had called for pink Tests to be an exception only, ahead of the clash against Bangladesh.
"I think (day-night Tests) can be a one-off thing, it should not be a regular scenario," Kohli had said.
Kohli had further added that the audience must be able to appreciate the real new-ball duel between bat and ball in the early hours of every day which has been absent in the pink-ball games thus far across the world.
