BCCI announces Board President's XI squad for Windies warm-up game

The Board President's XI side for the warm-up game against West Indies has been announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today. Karnataka batsman Karun Nair will lead the team in the game that will be played on September 29 before the Test series between India and West Indies.

The Windies cricket team will tour India this month for two Tests, five ODIs and three T20 international matches. The first Test will be played in Rajkot and the touring side will play the Board President's XI team prior to that in a warm-up game in Vadodara. Karun Nair will lead the team for the two-day warm-up game and the side includes players who have done well consistently in the domestic circuit.

"The All-India Senior Selection Committee has picked the squad for Board President’s XI that will play a two-day warm-up match against the visiting Windies side in Vadodara starting on September 29th 2018, before the two-match Paytm Test series," read a BCCI statement.

Karnataka batsman Mayank Agarwal has found a place in the team and he will most likely open the innings for the team along with youngster Prithvi Shaw. Hanuma Vihari, Shreyas Iyer, Ankit Bawne and Jalaj Saxena are in the side as well. Jharkhand wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan is also a part of the team.

Basil Thampi, K Vignesh, Ishan Porel and Avesh Khan will shoulder the responsibility of the bowling department. 

Board President’s XI: Mayank Agarwal, Prithvi Shaw, Hanuma Vihari, Karun Nair (captain), Shreyas Iyer, Ankit Bawne, Ishan Kishan (wicket-keeper), Jalaj Saxena, Saurabh Kumar, Basil Thampi, Avesh Khan, K Vignesh, Ishan Porel.
