Dinesh Karthik, Shreyas Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane to lead Deodhar Trophy teams

Dinesh Karthik, Shreyas Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane has been named captains of India A, India B and India C teams for the Prof. D.B. Deodhar Trophy which will be played from October 23 in Delhi. The teams include many international cricketers who are not a part of the ODI squad against the Windies.

As per a press release from the BCCI, the All India Senior Selection Committee has picked up the teams today. Apart from skipper Karthik, the India A side includes other international players like newcomer Prithvi Shaw, batsman Karun Nair, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, and pacers Mohammed Siraj, Dhawal Kulkarni, and Siddharth Kaul.

Mumbai batsman Shreyas Iyer will shoulder the responsibility of India B which has Hanuma Vihari, Varun Aaron and Jaydev Unadkat in the side. Test vice-captain Rahane will lead the India C team comprising of opener Abhinav Mukund, left-hander Suresh Raina, and all-rounders Vijay Shankar, and Washington Sundar. 

The players have been selected as per their recent performance at the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy and there are many young aspirants in all the three teams trying to get into the senior national side. The final of the tournament is scheduled to be played on October 27 at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi.

India A: Dinesh Karthik (C & WK), Prithvi Shaw, Anmolpreet Singh, A R Easwaran, Ankit Bawne, Nitish Rana, Karun Nair, Krunal Pandya, R Ashwin, Shreyas Gopal, S Mulani, Mohammed Siraj, Dhawal Kulkarni, Siddarth Kaul   

India B: Shreyas Iyer (C), Mayank Agarwal, Rituraj Gaekwad, PS Chopra, Hanuma Vihari, Manoj Tiwary, Ankush Bains (WK), Rohit Rayudu, K Gowtham, Mayank Markande, S Nadeem, Deepak Chahar, Varun Aaron, Jaydev Unadkat.

India C: Ajinkya Rahane (C), Abhinav Mukund, Shubman Gill, R Samarth, Suresh Raina, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan (WK), Vijay Shankar, Washington Sundar, Rahul Chahar, Pappu Roy, Navdeep Saini, R Gurbani, Umar Nazir.
