19-year-old Rashid Khan has created history to become the youngest player to captain a team in the history of international cricket. The Afghan leg-spinner broke the 14-year-old record held by Rajin Saleh, who led Bangladesh team back in the 2004 champions trophy when he was 20 years 297 days old.

Records and Rashid Khan cannot be separated at the moment. After the Afghan player became the youngest No. 1 bowler in ODI as well as T20I world rankings, his latest feat includes becoming the captain of the international side for the World Cup Qualifiers, which is scheduled to start from March 4.

He will be 19 years and 165 days old on March 4, when the CWCQ begins, making him the youngest captain in the history of international cricket. Rashid, however, will be the interim captain of the side after the former skipper, Asghar Stanikzai, opted out of the qualifiers so that he could recover from the appendicitis surgery.

The hot property has been enjoying a phenomenal time in the international cricket as well as in domestic leagues. Rashid put up a brilliant performance in the Big Bash League as well as he picked 18 wickets in his debut season, which made the Sunrisers Hyderabad use their Right to Match card to retain him for a whopping 9 crores in the mega auctions.
