Elated by the splendid performances of Team India over the last one year or so, India’s batting Coach Sanjay Bangar has praised the Indian batsmen and said that they can replicate the 'fab four' era again in Indian cricket. He also praised KL Rahul and Ravichandran Ashwin for their brilliance.

The Indian team have been enjoying a splendid run on the field over the last one year. After dismantling Sri Lanka on their home turf, India defeated South Africa and West Indies in the test series at home and away respectively.

Before India is going to take on the Kiwi challenge from 22nd of September at Kanpur, Bangar emphasized the progress that has been happening during the last few months.

He said in an interview with The Times of India, “The kind of progress this team has made in the last two years (from hovering around World No 7 to becoming World No 1 twice in the last 6 months), indicates the work being put in. Our goal has been to play an aggressive brand of cricket. The third Test against West Indies last month comes to my mind as we had very little time to force a result as a day-and-half was washed out. But the kind of cricket we played to get a result out of that game shows our hunger to be a top side."

KL Rahul, who has now scored centuries in Australia, Sri Lanka and West Indies, has also been praised by the Indian batting coach. Praising Karnataka opener, Bangar said, “Rahul has created a lot of competition among the boys. Rahul has made it count each time he has gone in to bat. Be it the Test centuries he scored in Sydney, Colombo, Jamaica or the hundreds in ODIs and T20s - Rahul has been fantastic."

He also stressed on the smooth communication between the players and the coaches.

He said, "We reach out to the player and make him understand the reasons that went into it (the decision-making). We ensure that the communication (between coaches and players) remains smooth."

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who has been the main protagonist of the several victories both in the country and outside, has also been praised highly by Bangar.  The 44-year old said, “An allrounder is an asset in any format of the game, and Ashwin has shown why he is one of the best. Ashwin's ability to score those runs lower down the order plus his skills with the ball lend a lot of flexibility to the side,"
