India to tour West Indies in July-August

West Indies had abandoned their 2014 India tour after playing the fourth ODI in Dharamsala, due to disputes between the players and the Board, on player contracts. The team was scheduled to play five ODIs, one Twenty20 and three Test matches. After the sudden termination of the tour, the BCCI had initially said that they would pursue a claim for $42 million in compensation from the cash-strapped WICB. However, fruitful discussions between the WICB and the BCCI, after the initial stalemate, has led to the West Indies cricket board confirming the series, with the actual dates yet to be confirmed.

Speaking to Cricket Radio in Nagpur on Sunday, Dave Cameron said, "The official word is that the tour is on. We are just awaiting confirmation of the venues now. And once we have done that, we will send out a release with the dates, the venues and everything,” reported .

With the 2016 Caribbean Premier League also expected to be held at the same time, the Windies Test players are likely to miss out on the lucrative T20 tournament.

"Yes, it will [clash with the CPL]. The unfortunate thing is that the international calendar is packed. And the only window for this tour to come off is during that time. So, there will be a clash, but we are working with CPL to ensure there is no clash of venues so times of the matches won't be hampered," Cameron said.

The last time India toured West Indies was back in 2011, winning the three-match test series 1-0 under the captaincy of M S Dhoni.
